About Chic.js and Mark Schellhas

Chic.js is an open-source Rails-like CLI for SvelteKit created by Mark Schellhas. It creates TypeScript applications with Drizzle and SQLite, then generates validated CRUD resources, pages, APIs, and reversible migrations.

Mark created Chic.js to bring the productive, convention-driven workflow of Ruby on Rails and Laravel to the SvelteKit ecosystem. Chic 2 outputs Svelte 5, uses the official Svelte CLI for project setup, and keeps generation atomic so you can focus on the parts of an application that make it unique.
